Diabetes symptom for type 1 diabetes usually come on rather quickly - in days or weeks rather than months. However, diabetes symptom for type 2 diabetes comes on more slowly and may go unnoticed until a routine checkup is done.

Diabetes Symptom of Type 1 Diabetes
Frequent urination
Diabetics always find themselves need to pass urine very frequently. This is because the diabetics' kidneys are stimulated by the highly elevated glucose level to excrete a large amount of glucose-loaded urine to get the level down. This is one of the classic diabetes symptoms for type 1 diabetes.
Excessive thirst and a dry mouth
When a diabetic passes urine so frequently, he or she will become very thirsty and need to drink large amount of fluids to replace the water being lost because of urination.
Tiredness caused by insufficient sleep
Diabetics always experience tiredness as a result of insufficient sleep caused by the need to pass urine at night.
Weight loss
When the cells in the diabetic's body cannot get food, which is glucose, they begin to starve. This results in a wasting weight loss. Despite excessive food intake, type 1 diabetics, when left untreated, continue to lose weight because their body cells cannot utilize the food they ingest. This diabetes symptom is only apparent in type 1 diabetic patients.
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Diabetic ketoacidosis occurs when toxic chemicals called ketones build up in the blood. Ketones are produced when the body cells are unable to absorb glucose due to insufficient insulin, and instead they metabolize fats for energy. This is a unique diabetes symptom for people with type 1 diabetes. Signs of diabetic ketoacidosis are as below:
Nausea and vomiting, sometimes with abdominal pain.
Deep breathing.
Acetone smell to the breath (like nail-polish remover)
Confusion
Drowsiness, leading to diabetes coma if not treated.
Diabetes Symptom of Type 2 Diabetes
Frequently passing urine copiously.
Need to drink more fluid than normal.
Skin problems that happen frequently, such as boils.
Itching in the genital area, especially for women.
Blurred vision.
