Diabetes Recipes for Breakfast

Healthy diabetes recipes for the whole family to enjoy!


  • This diabetes recipe is suitable for those who are caught up in the morning rush.

Oaty Banana Breakfast (Serves 4)Diabetes Recipes

Ingredients

  • 100 g rolled porridge oats
  • 200 ml skim milk
  • 4 tbsp clear honey
  • 2 large dessert apples, peeled, cored and grated
  • 2 medium bananas, thinly sliced
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • juice of 1 orange
  • 2 tsp grated orange rind
  • 300 ml plain low-fat yogurt

For Garnish

  • 4 dark muscovado sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh or frozen berries, or orange segments

Preparation

  1. Soak the porridge oats in skimmed milk overnight.
     
  2. In the morning stir in all the remaining ingredients and divide the mixture among 4 individual serving glasses.
     
  3. Decorate each glass with whatever fruit is available.  Oatcakes make very good accompaniment.
